Freak Out!!!!!

Last night I totally freaked out, I just had so much going on...

I found out that I'd done everything wrong (again) in the maths assignment I worked all day on
I have an assignment draft due next week that I didn't even realize existed
Dinner was being over cooked because I was being torn left right and center
And to top it off, my computer was swearing at me!!!!

Today I'm having a whole lot of computer troubles so I'm on my iPad.

I can generally work out what's going on, with technology, but there are days when it just won't give me a clue, and I can't work out something from nothing, so I'll just let it work through it's difficulties and leave it alone....

If you are having computer troubles, I feel for you

Dude is Back

My little brother is back from his holiday, it's so good to have him back!
It's strange you don't realise how much you miss something until it's gone...and then you want it back

Anyway to celebrate here are some cool pictures of his favourite food, donuts:

LOTRO

There is this really cool game I've been playing for about 6 months now. It's called Lord of the Rings Online, it's a MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online) game. Based on the Lord of the Rings books (not the movies). You can play as 4 different races (hobbit, elf, dwarf, or boring old man), loads of different classes like burglar, champion, lore master, my favourite hunter, and so many more (all of the classes are based of different characters in the book).

Here are some photos from the game

If you are interested in playing this game, beware it can take up to 7 hours to download the initial content. However it is totally worth it! Official Website

The Battle at Lone Pine

Here's a poem I wrote last year in rememberance of this historical day... hope you like it!

THE BATTLE AT LONE PINE

Silently as the night, the men who risked their lives,
Crept away, leaving their dead mates behind
Men from all walks of life, foot soldiers, most without wives,
The Turks had won, though some denied.

As they clambered down those steep cliff faces,
And looked upon the land they first glimpsed eight months ago
They showed no regret; soon they would be where their place is,
But as the sun rose dawning a new day, the men hurried to go

When they landed here in Spring, they did not plan on misdirection,
For this campaign was meant to be easy
In Anzac Cove they stood, but there was no sign of affection.
From the Turks or the terrain of Gallipoli

But now here they stand, on the sand once again
Leaving the land they fought so hard to get
When they first came, they knew not suffering, or pain
What they know now, others know not yet

Of why they came, and left again
What many celebrate each year
Not the victory they could not gain
But the ANZAC spirit that is still here.

April 25

Today is ANZAC Day, the day we remember all the men who fought that terrible war at Gallipoli.
To celebrate this historical day, I'm going to share some history on the ANZAC Biscut (or previously called, Crispies and Soldiers biscuits)
The ANZAC biscuits were popular to send to soldiers overseas, because of the common household ingredient and how easy it is to make. It also didn't have egg meaning it kept well

Here's a link where you can find all the history of the ANZAC Biscuit
Now that we're done with the history lesson...here's a recipe for ANZAC Biscuits they good old fashioned way.
These biscuits are from the late 1920s so keep in mind, you may not be able to use all the ingredients, that's alright. But if you can, good on you.

Ingredients
  • 2 level cups / 200g / 6 oz rolled oats
  • 1 level cup / 125g / 4 1/2 oz plain flour
  • 1/2 cup / 105g / 3 1/2 oz granulated sugar
  • 125g / 4 1/2 oz butter
  • 1 extra generous Tbsp golden syrup
  • 1 tsp. bicarbonate of soda
  • 2 tbsp. boiling water
Method
Pre-set oven 170F/150C, and line two baking trays with baking paper.
Put the oats, flour and sugar into a large bowl and mix well.
Melt the butter in a large pan over medium heat, dip tablespoon in hot water and then use to measure the golden syrup, stir till dissolved and just coming to the boil - remove from heat source (but don't allow it to cool).
Stir the bicarbonate of soda with the measured boiling water until its dissolved then add to the pan of hot melted butter and golden syrup.
Stir until it 'froths up'- immediately add to the dry ingredients and mix all together.
Taking teaspoons or a flat dessert spoon of the mixture - place it in your hand, bring together by rolling into a ball, place 5 cm apart on the baking sheet (they will spread).
The biscuits need to be flattened slightly - use the base of a glass or, press down with a fork dipped in a little flour (this will stop it sticking).
Put trays in a pre heated oven for 15 - 18 minutes until golden (they will still be soft)
Leave the biscuits on the trays for 5 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack. When the biscuits are cold store them in an air tight tin.

One in a Million

A friend dared me to write a happy song, so here it is (tell me what you think):

One in a Million

Verse 1
I like to jump, run, dance and sing
Spices food's for me, but please no cream
I'm not a geek, but it's true my favourite number's 42
I'm wacky and weird
But at least I'm not feared

Chorus

Verse 2
I don't know what to do
When I meet somebody new
I like to paint the sky
I wish I could fly
I'm afraid of fire
And I'm not for hire

Chorus
I'm one in a million...
You can try, but you can't copy me
One in a million...
Just be who you're meant to be

Bridge
You can try to aim high
But you'll only hit the sky
Look me in the eye
Tell me when you realize
To just be yourself
Be nobody else
'Cause you're one in a million...one in a million
You're one in a million to me
(One in a million)

Chorus

Crazy Holiday Hairdo Challenge

Recently I did CHHC (Crazy Holiday Hairdo Challenge).
During this challenge you have to try and complete 14 crazy hairdos (one for each day) and take a photo.

So that's what I did...some of my hairdos were a bit (a lot) messy, but it all worked out.

I'm hoping to get this to catch on, so take the challenge and send me the results on Google+

The photos of my hairdos will be coming later...

I'm back!

I've been away for awhile, but now I'm back and ready to chat!

Work has been so hectic recently (for the past 2 years) that I haven't had any time to chat :(
But now I'm more settled in to my new routine, so I'm happy to be here.

Here are some fireworks to celebrate!
